In this most familiar portion of scripture, we take a look at God’s love for the world. You might be surprised to learn that the word “world” in this text doesn’t mean every man, woman, boy, and girl that ever lived. We look at The Substance of His love, The Scope of His love, The Sacrifice of His Love, and the Salvation of His Love.

The Greatest Love Story Ever Told (Part 2)

Preached from John 3:16-21 on May 5, 2013 in the morning service

Having examined in the previous message, the love of God for the world, we now look at what man loves. The love of God is glorious and holy, but men love darkness rather than light because their deeds are evil.  In this message we examine closely how this love for darkness manifests itself in the lives of those that have it.  We end by showing, how someone who is so desperately in love with darkness, can be changed in to someone who loves light.

The New Birth (Part 2)

Preached on Sunday Morning, April 21, 2013  from John 3:11-15. The Lord Jesus Christ continues the interview with Nicodemus. He tells him that He and others have testified to the reality of the New Birth, but Nicodemus and his crowd didn’t believe  that testimony.  He then goes on to give the promise of eternal life to all who would believe in Him.

The New Birth

Preached from John 3:1-10 on April 14, 2013

By today’s standards, in many circles, Nicodemus would have been considered a saved person. He was very religious. He was a Pharisee. He approached Jesus with great admiration and respect. He was certainly “Jesus friendly.” He no doubt considered himself to be already in the kingdom of God. But Jesus’ rather terse reply to his complimentary approach, caused Nicodemus considerable consternation, “Verily Verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. What is the new birth? That is the subject of our study.
